Macroeconomic outlook in the United States for the upcoming year. Review will include rate speculation, government policy impacts, and analysis of the overall strength of the economy.
Mike Dowdall, Portfolio Strategist, BMO Global Asset Management
Mike’s responsibilities include conducting top-down macro research with a focus on portfolio construction and working with clients to develop holistic investment solutions. Mike serves as co-manager of the BMO Target Risk Funds and Managed Asset Allocation Portfolios (MAAPs), and manager of the BMO Alternative Strategies Fund. Additionally, Mike is a frequent media contributor, having appeared in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes and CNBC. He joined the company in 2016.
Prior to working with BMO, Mike was an investment analyst at Lighthouse Investment Partners, where he covered a variety of hedge fund strategies and built customized portfolios for institutional clients. He began his career as a senior consultant at Protiviti Consulting.
Mike holds an M.B.A. in econometrics and statistics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Notre Dame. In addition, he is a CFA® charter holder.
